Strawberry Festival - May 29, 2010

Garden Grove High School Marching Band leading the parade.

Odd picture, I know. But this shirtless guy was hilarious! I don't think he was all there in the head. He kept commenting on other people's shoes and whether or not they would make good running shoes.

Chloe decked out in her Strawberry dress; very appropriate, we thought.
She also loved watching the parade.

At the festival enjoying the ever delicious Strawberry Supreme! (Strawberries, shortcake, ice cream, and whipped cream!)

All tuckered out after a festive day!

Our Move - October 24, 2009

Needless to say, things have been quite hectic around here but I have a few minutes so I thought I would post a few pictures from our move last October. In some cases, the timing of our move was not ideal as I was due any day (although, Chloe didn't actually show up until a full month later!) but I'm so thankful we got into a house before Chloe did arrive and that we had a little bit of time to get settled (even though it was mainly Jeremiah moving us in as I sat on the couch trying to stay comfortable and relax).

We, fortunately, had a lot of help with our move, from people donating boxes, a moving truck, and tape, to others helping me pack, unpack, and clean, to actually physically moving all of our stuff from our apartment to our garage. We didn't start to live in our house until a week after escrow closed and we moved the majority of our things over as we were having the inside painted and carpet put in the upstairs.

By that time, I was just so thankful that escrow was finally over with as that was so much more emotional than I was anticipating (granted I was 9 months pregnant by that point!). Dealing with the painters was a whole other issue that I wasn't prepared for as well but they did do a good job and there was no way we could have painted everything ourselves, cleaned, and prepared for Chloe all at the same time - so it definitely was a must!

I just hung our first pictures in our house (in our Master bedroom) this last weekend - only took me 6 months! But I have been a little preoccupied, to say the least. I'm looking forwards to hanging some more soon and adding additional final touches to really make this place feel like our home. I'm so thankful for all that God has blessed us with!

Here are some photos from that moving day:

Mother's Day - May 9, 2010

The Little Girl who made me a Mommy :)

Chloe's special card to Mommy

We went to Sara's Grandma's (Thelin) house after church for a quick visit (no pictures) and then headed over to Jeremiah's Aunt & Uncle's (Cornthwaite) house for a good meal and family time (pictures below). We ended the day with a trip to Jeremiah's Grandparents' (Frazier) house for a quick hello (no pictures). After all that traveling, we were done for the night! (By the end of it, I vowed never to cram so much in one day again with kids and on a day that was supposed to celebrate me as well!)

Yummy Key Lime Pie!

At our house, we have a lime tree, but not just any lime tree, a key lime tree. I've never made a pie from scratch before and we had all these ripe limes so I thought it would be fitting to try my hand at it.

Let me just say it sure was tasty and this is definitely something that I will be making again and again over the coming years with our very own limes :)
