Jane Austen Evening 2008

I love anything Jane Austen, her books, movies about her books, the Regency clothes, English Country Dancing, scones, clotted cream, & tea, etc. So when there's a place that combines them all, you can count on me being there!

Years ago, I had gone to the Jane Austen Evening, twice. It was so much fun as you get to dress up, dance, and pretend like you are in a completely different place and time.

Jeremiah knows my love of Regency and he agreed to go with me this year! Now, the only catch was, he wanted to have an appropriate outfit, but definitely not one that looked home-made or costumey! But not only did he want an appropriate Regency outfit, he wanted a Naval Officer's Uniform. So I had my work cut out for me!

I started back in October getting things ready for the event in January. It took many, many hours at the cutting and sewing table to get his outfit to look just right and it all paid off because his outfit was a hit!

We had a wonderful time dancing and playing our parts during the evening. Here are some pictures of the event:

Happy 1st Anniversary!

Now this may not be everyone's idea of how to spend their wedding anniversary, especially not their 1st, but for the BIG Chargers fans that we are, we couldn't pass up the tickets when Jeremiah's uncle offered them to us. For us, it was a very special way to celebrate our 1st Anniversary - at a Chargers' Playoff Game - and they won!

(Oh, it was also raining, if you were wondering about our attire.)

Fun in the Snow!

Shortly after Christmas, we headed out for a mini family reunion with my relatives in Colorado (on my mom's side).

We got to spend time with my Grandparents and a few of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings. We had a great time playing cards (especially Hand and Foot with my Grandparents), visiting, and playing in the snow.

Jeremiah even made his first snow angel ever!

We also were there to celebrate New Year's with everyone.

The trip was a great adventure and we enjoyed every minute of it.
