Keely - 4 Months (12/31/11)

Look! I found my toes!

Mommy finally got around to taking better pictures of me in my Halloween outfit

Keely's Accomplishments this Month:

• Started at 12 lbs. 8.2 oz; Finished at 14 lbs. 0.0 oz – a 1 lb. 7.8 oz weight gain
• Started rolling from her back to her side. Then another time, rolled from her back to her tummy and yet another time rolled from her tummy to her back! She hasn't done any of them more than once or twice, but mobility seems like it's just around the corner!
• Using her hands a lot more to put her pacifier back into her mouth (if it's close enough) and to play with toys (mainly to put them in her mouth as well)
• Holding her head up really well most of the day and especially during tummy time
• Laughing and smiling a lot as usual
• Found her toes and even put one in her mouth (She prefers them to be bare and not covered by clothes)
• Gave Mommy her first big, open-mouthed kiss J
• Talking a lot more
• Very interested in anything her sister is doing
• Watched her first parade at Disneyland
• Watched (a.k.a. slept through) her first fireworks show at Disneyland
• Celebrated her first Christmas! (She enjoyed the wrapping paper and how it crinkled beneath her fingers)
• Interested in mirrors and actually looked at Mommy via a mirror a few times
• Starting to blow raspberries and spit bubbles more
• Rubbed her eyes for the first time to show she was tired

Keely - 3 Months (11/30/11)

 

Keely's Accomplishments this Month:

• Started at 11 lbs. 6 oz; Finished at 12 lbs. 8.2 oz – a 1 lb. 2.2 oz weight gain
• Really started to laugh out loud this month
• Nurses every 2 (4- 5 hours break at night)
• Began sucking on her fingers a lot (still likes the pacifier)
• Started sleeping in Mommy's arms again at night but towards the end of the month went back into her sleep positioner
• Starting to grab on to toys and show an interest in them as well as track them with her eyes and head
• Got her first set of vaccines – she handled them very well!
• Likes to talk a lot
• Uses her hands to push her pacifier back into her mouth if it's nearby
• Holding her head up well and keeps it up for a little while during tummy time
• Met her Unky Josh in person for the first time
• Very interested in her hands now
• Likes to blow spit bubbles – also drooling more now
• Went Miniature Golfing for the first time for Chloe's Birthday – didn't care too much about it
• Kicks her legs in excitement when Mommy comes to pick her up
• Went to Disneyland & California Adventure
• Went to the movies for Mommy's birthday – watched (a.k.a. slept through) Puss In Boots

Keely - 2 Months Old (10/31/11)

Keely's Accomplishments This Month:

• Started the month at 9lbs 4.5 oz; Ended the month at 10lbs 15.9 oz - A 1 lb 11.4oz gain!
• Still very smiley
• Cooing a lot more
• Was fed a bottle for the first time by Daddy
• Slept even better at night – still prefers to sleep in Mommy's arms if she's allowed
• Still a very easy baby
• Had her first dance with Daddy
• Babysat by Nana & fed a bottle by Nana for the first time
• Smiled a lot while Mommy read a book ("Goofy on the Hillside") to Chloe and her
• Still liked to be held while awake and not set down but now enjoyed the bouncer and swing (sleeping and awake) and really likes the mobile on the swing
• Played on the playmat for the first time and even grabbed on to a toy once
• Got her first cold but she wasn't cranky at all
• Comforted with swaddling, her pacifier, and soft music
• Her neck strength and head control are really good
• Went Trick or Treating for the first time!
• Rarely cries in her carseat and while travelling in the car now
• Cooing a lot this month

Keely - 1 Month Old (9/30/11)

Keely's Accomplishments This Month:

• Started the month at 7lbs 8 oz; Ended the month at 9lbs 4.5 oz - A 1 lb 12.5oz gain!
• Very smiley - Smiled at Daddy & Mommy with her mouth and eyes when she was 24 days old
• Went to Disneyland for the first time
• Went to Sunset Park in San Marcos
• Sucked on her thumb for the first time
• Went down a slide with Mommy for the first time
• Went to Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas
• Went to work with Mommy for the first time
• Preferred to sleep in Mommy's arms or on her chest
• A Very Easy baby
• Fell asleep easily, especially after being swaddled and fed, and slept well at night (only got up a few times to nurse most nights)
• Liked her pacifier and listening to Enya to calm down
• Didn't like baths but tolerates showers
• Grunty & Squeaky baby, especially between the hours of 4am-6am
• Hated being in her carseat and travelling in the car
• Liked to sleep on her tummy and could move her head from side to side
